PART I
Despite appearing to be simple it is a very ambitious new project that is ongoing … trying to create something from an inspiration is a lot more hard than you would think.
THE PROCESS
I Saw this skirt on an online store – Lanidor (https://www.lanidor.com/pt/mulher/saia-malha-estruturada/prd/296888/8/) and just had to have a try at it! It does seem that it can be done using the two crochet stiches from my previous projects. Oh my God was I wrong to think this was a simple enterprise… crochet pattern designers have earned my respect! Not aiming to be a designer myself I just really wanted to make this skirt.
MY FIRST ATTEMPT
I started this with a 2mm crochet needle and using only double crochet stich

But seemed a bit to tight and the increase was not going along with my hips ... so this attempt was abandoned...
MY SECOND ATTEMPT
Then went on to this with a 4 mm or 3,5 mm crochet needle (cannot remeber which one was used) and using only double crochet stich all around not doing it flat.

I did enjoy how the sitches were going along but failed massively on the increase ... and agin this attempt was abandoned ...
MY THIRD ATTEMPT
After this second attempt I dedicated my time to online search for help with a tutorial for a similar project and found the amaizing help of CROCHET MC here (Mi primera falda con granny square 🥰 Falda Azabache (youtube.com). My main problem was that as soon as I started increasing the triangles the skirt became to loose around my hips not at all what I wanted, so with the help of this Tutorial I started to understand how the increases should be done and to undertstand the dynamics of making this type of crochet skirt, it was a very helpful assistance indeed.
After this last failed attempt, I decided to re start the project ... will let you know how it turned out but fingers crossed this time I actually finish the project!
Will let you how it works out ...
