Crochet Beach Cover-Up

Being limited in my knowledge of crochet stiches and because I do it for relaxing, thus complicated designs mean I must concentrate solely on my project and cannot watch TV or listen to a podcast I decided to attempt to create a Beach Cover-up to use this summer, using yet again simple stitches, but I learned a new one! Treble Crochet stich!

And this is what I created:

My inspiration came from this:

Inspiration came from - yarninspirations.com

I had bought a yarn with multiple colors, and I decided went well with one of my bathing suits and thus ideal for a beach cover up!

Using just treble crochet and double crochet creating a sort of a mesh here is how it began:

This is done in 2 panels

Beach Cover-Up Pannels (Back & Front)

Back Panel

120 chains

1st Row – Double Crochet

2nd Row – Treble Crochet skip one and treble crochet

3rd Row – Treble crochet skip one and treble crochet in the next hole so as to be mismatch (unlike the inspiration where the stitch is on top of the other)

In my case for the back Panel I did 63 Rows in total

Front Panel

120 chains

1st Row – Double Crochet

2nd Row – Treble Crochet skip one and treble crochet

3rd Row – Treble crochet skip one and treble crochet in the next hole so as to be mismatch (unlike the inspiration where the stitch is on top of the other)

Form the 45th row onwards until the 63rd row I started to decrease and only worked one side at the time to create de v-neckline. At the end I stitched a single crochet all around the v neckline.

In order to maintain the colors, I had to use a new yarn skein so as to match the colors on both sides of the v neckline.

At the end just stitched along the collar and left some room for the arms and stitched on either side!

When all parts were swoed together at the end I stitched a single crochet all around the v neckline, to give it a finishing.

Pretty simple and it was a success this summer! I do believe the yarn had something to do with this!

I never tire of thanking all whom have helped turn my visons into reality by teaching the necessary steps to get there!

Please feel free to ask any questions you may have, not being an expert, my help will only go so far! Hope you enjoy this project.

Hi, thanks for stopping by!

Not having anyone to teach me I had the assistance of the internet, more specifically Youtube Tutorials. I have come to discover that with the videos the language barrier can be overcome as you can crochet at the same time as you see in the video.

Let the posts
come to you.
